Students offering a room often do so by posting a description in a Facebook group, asking interested room-seekers to email them. However, their inboxes are frequently flooded with responses, making it easy for the listers to lose track. The concept behind Hospiteerbeer is to have listers create an email address on the platform's domain (e.g., kamer.nijmegen@hospiteerbeer.nl) and use artificial intelligence to process the incoming emails, extracting specific details such as the applicant's hobbies, age, and field of study.
Using Python to control an Arduino, the A* algorithm visualizes how an electricity network operates. For instance, a user can place a 3D-printed house requiring energy and solar panels elsewhere on the table, then watch the energy flow from the panels to the house.
An Android application has also been developed; among other features, it allows users to simulate a network fault at a specific location, triggering attempts to supply energy to the consuming modules via alternative routes.
